Check- up

I had my 5 month checkup today, and everything is great! Landrie is perfect, and growing quickly! She was kicking the doppler while Dr. Hurst was listening for the heartbeat, and we laughed!

I can feel her flipping around, and sometimes I can feel a faint kick, but nothing strong yet. I haven't gained any weight since the first week, so in their book I've gained 5 lbs. In my book, I'm at +12 lbs because I count the first couple of weeks before I went to the dr! I think I'll forget about my book an go with theirs! It is so hot, and I'm so sick of it! I've figured out how to sleep and not sweat to death, but I'm still counting down the days until the leaves start falling with the temps!

Working has been interesting, mainly because I have to figure out ways to stay awake! We have been very slow and I stay VERY still all night! I wish it weren't dark and dangerous outside and I'd walk around the building. I'm sure what will happen is that I'll be HUGE pregnant and we'll get super busy all at the same time!

I'm in the process of trying to find someone to do my maternity pictures. The girl I wanted to use is gonna be a little busy.. She just had a baby girl. So, finding someone that can do then when I want and be reasonably price is hard! Eh, it'll work out!

We're also really busy and excited about my shower (October 23rd) and the nursery! I can't wait to start painting and putting furniture together!

I'll post lots of pictures!

More pink, please!

No, its not a joke, we are having a baby girl! Her name will be..

Landrie Kay Schmidt

Daddy is a little bummed that it's not a boy, but Aniston and I are very excited! We've already started thinking of fun "big sister" things to do. She is very excited to play princess dress up, put makeup on her, help change her diapers, help give her a bath and wash her hair, give her bottles, and brush her hair. I found her a "big sister" shirt at Storkland today, and she was SUPER excited.

Aunt Mal and I have started planning the nursery. It's going to be hot pink, black, white, damask, zebra, chenille, and all girl and glamor. We're having aunt Gillis and Minnie make the
bedding, Mal's on a run with the decor. I've got all the furniture, and we'll paint the walls dark hot pink. I'm going to take the fan down and put up a black crystally chandelier.

I have a picture of the sonogram from Wednesday, but I can't get our scanner to work. I'll post it as soon as I can.

Landrie is an active little girl already! She was dancing and kicking so much in my belly that the sono tech had to follow her around and wait for her to settle down.

All this moving and kicking is stirring up my insides. I've been more nauseous and had HORRIBLE heartburn the last few weeks, more than I did the first 4 months! I've also been fighting my allergies and sinuses, something aweful! I'm sure I'll get a cold, I usually do in the summer! Whats hard is I cant take anything.. especially the things that work! The headaches and runny nose are about to wear me out!

I know I shouldn't complain because I've been very lucky, and I'm so blessed to be growing this sweet Landrie girl! Everyday I can feel the love increasing in my heart, and I can't wait to meet her and show her just how much we love her!

Movement

I felt the baby move today, for sure, not gas and not a flutter. It was a definite left to right movement. I've been feeling some questionable "fluttering" feelings for about a week.

The first time I felt the movement was laying in bed, trying to go to sleep. The second time, was when I was laying down in the bath, washing my hair. The third time, I was leaning up against a patients bed, and I swear the baby kicked the side rail.

I'm really loving how great I feel, and I'm enjoying everything to do with this pregnancy. I could do without the 100 degree temperatures, but I try to stay inside as much as possible.

I'm counting down the days until we have our sonogram! In 5 days we'll know whether or not we're having a boy or a girl baby Schmidt!

Now, I just need to decide on names, for sure. I have some "likes" and a few "loves", but I haven't made up my mind 100%. Well, I should say we.. WE haven't made up our mind for sure, although I'm not sure Randy really cares, as long as its not TOO weird. Any suggestions would be appreciated! ;)

Until next time.....

16 Weeks

It's been awhile since I've posted, but tomorrow I'll be 16 weeks. I'm actually feeling really great! I'm getting some energy back and I'm not sick anymore. The only "negative" is that I'm always hungry!

Technically the baby is about the size of an avocado, or 4 to 5 inches and 3 to 5 oz. I'm not feeling it move yet, but I do feel a fluttery feeling at times. I can definitely feel the baby when I push on my stomach, gently of course. And, I most definitely LOOK pregnant! I've gained about 11 pounds, which is fine with me. Hopefully I can manage it from here on out... I've got a long way to go!

Here is a picture a friend took of me tonight at work...

Daddy and Aniston are happy and excited. We find out what we're having on July 28th!
I'll definitely post an update then, if not sooner!

13 weeks

I realized that I haven't posted anything for a few weeks. I was 13 weeks on Sunday and everything is going well. I'm really tired still, which is getting old. I'm enjoying spending a bunch of quality time with Aniston. I've been off work a lot lately, so it's given us a lot of alone time. We've been swimming a lot, and packing even more! We move to our new house next week so we're excited! Pregnancy wise, I'm great! I've been having some "round ligament pains" and my hips ache after I'm on my feet a long time! Luckily I have an understanding hubs that let's me rest a lot and encourages me to take naps! I'm getting really excited about all the events to come.. I have an appointment today so hopefully I'll get to schedule the sono to find out what were having! It should be around mid July!

Here is a picture from tonight at work... My 13 week belly picture.
